Hey folks! Glad to see you all again 🙂 This no internet thing is for the birds! Anyway, I want to share with you some pictures of our very first, bonafide, bigger than Texas thanksgiving. As some of you know, I used to be in the Navy many many moons ago. I was lucky a few years back and reconnected with a friend from way back and found out that we would be close enough to visit! He and his wife kindly invited us to come share their Thanksgiving meal with them and the rest of the family. Of course, I had to bring something…and when I asked how many people would be there, he simply said ”whoever shows up!”. Try preparing food for that many people!! Anyway, we headed on over bright and early on Thanksgiving Day and ended up having a blast! They ( Missie and Drew) have three lovely kiddos, one of which ended up being a best buddy to our boy Sylar. Cade is five too, and those two were like peas and carrots from the get go! It was about 12 hours of nonstop action with those boys and I can’t tell you how happy it made me to see that my son isn’t a nut job….there is at least ONE more drive you crazy cuter than pie five year old boy out there! Grace also had a friend, tho it took a bit more time for them to warm up to each other considering it was a boy 🙂 And their baby girl, Ande….there’s just no words…you’ll see why in a minute!
There were quite a few people there by my standards, and not too many for Missie’s! We all really loved hanging out at their house…we were treated as family and felt like we fit in right away. Plus, Drew’s a pretty special guy and it’s nice to see him as happy as he is with Missie (she ended up being pretty special too!)
So, without further ado…here’s Thanksgiving…the Texas way!

I even went Black Friday shopping with them….it was a ton of fun…and a wee bit scary! The next weekend we went back and were treated to Missie and Drews fabulous brisket and bbq chicken. They both belong to a competition team and I was amazed at how yummy it tasted! Missie even sent us home with leftovers!

I simply love that family…and I am so very very glad that God blessed us in such a way to share our loved ones with each other and have such a wonderful time!
Next post will be a bit more current with some pics from Christmas festivities featuring some of our favorite Texas friends and Santa!!
